Meet the Nomzamo Muslims

DONATE NOWNomzamo Islamic Society started in 2012 when one revert Muslim that moved from Khayelitsha to Nomzamo. However, there were no Muslims in the area nor anyone to teach. We started teaching in the houses (shacks) for the first two years, then moved to a container.
Alhamdulilah, since we started several people have accepted Islam. Currently we are running a madrassah for about 50 children. There are also several ladies and men that have reverted to Islam, Alhamdulilah. We started by renting a zinc structure for salaah and teaching, but it become too small and inadequate for the needs of promoting the Da’wah. As a result, we would like to purchase the current land and property that the madrassah is on in order to establish an Islamic Centre, Inshalah.
Nomzamo Islamic Society aims at all times, to propagate the pristine teachings of the Quran and Sunnah and to empower and uplift the Muslim community through education and social outreach programs. Currently, Nomzamo Islamic Society runs numerous educational programs. These include classes on Aqeedah, Fiqh and Quran reading. Furthermore, we coordinate a children’s madrassah.
The madrassah has grown immensely with numerous children coming to learn the Dean of Islam.
Grow the Muslim community in Nomzamo and to educate and uplift the people:
To invite Non-Muslims to the way of Islam.
Provide a facility (Masjid) to perform the 5 daily prayers.
To teach Islam and provide a safe environment for practicing Islam.
To provide a facility to conduct Islamic classes to all age groups.
Provide a space to uplift the community.
Provide outreach programmes.
The objective of Nomzamo Islamic Society is to, at all times, increase the presence of Islam upon the correct understanding, more particularly:
In order to achieve these objectives successfully, we require an established masjid, Islamic Centre.
